MILAN WINTER FASHION SHOWS 2013-2014

Pour les défilés de Milan, j'ai adoré:
Fendi pour le coté punk, fun (détails fourrure partout: coiffure, lunette, sac muppets, chaussure) et acidulé.  
Roberto Cavalli pour le mélange vénéneux de la fourrure, les imprimés floraux monochromes, les mosaïques métalliques et les bijoux.
Enfin, chez Gucci toute la partie soir était très belle, notamment les robes du soir avec les broderies en forme d'ailes. 
Un seul mot, Waouh!

For Milan fashion shows, I liked:
Fendi, for the punk, fun (fur details all over: hairs, glasses, muppets bag, shoes) and acid side.
Roberto Cavalli for the toxic mix of fur, monochrome floral prints, metallic mosaics and jewels.
And then, at Gucci all the evening part was amazing, specialy the gowns with the wings embroideries.
One word: Waouh!

TREND #27 SLIMEPUNK

Vous vous souvenez du New York des années 80, sale, gris, des graffitis partout et en plein mouvement punk ? 

On remplace le coté ‘usine désaffectée’ par de la couleur ; Arc En Ciel, façon mon Petit Poney (avec la crinière rose, bleu ou verte) ! On rajoute des fleurs et des paillettes (plus il y en a, mieux c’est) ! Parce que Girls Just Want to Have Fun !! Dans un univers créatif underground, très artistes des  rues on s’aménage sa propre Factory.

 

Do you remember the New York 80s, dirty, grey, graffiti everywhere and in middle of punk movement? 

Replacing the side, ‘abandoned factory’, by Rainbow colors, in My Little Pony way (with mane in pink, blue or green)! We add flowers, and sequins (more you add better it is) ! Because Girls Just Want to Have Fun! !! In an underground creative universe, very artists of streets we fit out our own Factory.

LONDON WINTER FASHION SHOWS 2013-2014

Pour les défilés de Londres, j'ai bien aimé le défilé Erdem, pour le noir paillette, les imprimés pailletés pixelisés colorés, le plumetis et les plumes d'autruche. Christopher Kane pour l'ensemble de sa collection que j'ai adorée! C'est frais, nouveau, les broderies sont très belles... je veux tout! Et Paul Smith, pour la palette de couleurs, bleu, violet, fuchsia  orange, rouge... Bref, des couleurs qui donne envie pour passer l'hiver!

For the London runways, I liked Erdem collection for the black sequins, pixelised colorful sequins print, polka dots, and ostrich feathers. Christopher Kane for his entire collection that I loved! It's fresh, new, the embroideries are amazing... I want it all! And Paul Smith, for the colors palette, blue, purple, fuchsia, orange, red... Well, those colors are perfect for going through winter!

NEW-YORK WINTER FASHION SHOWS 2013-2014

Vous avez suivi les défilés Pret-à-Porter Femme New-Yorkais Hiver 2013-2014?
Si ce ne n'est pas le cas, voici un aperçu des 3 défilés que j'ai le plus aimé. Ce qui me plait chez Jason Wu, Proenza Schouler et Theyskens'Theory, c'est la (fausse) simplicité; des formes, de la palette de couleurs, souvent blanc, gris, noir, nude et la recherche des matières. C'est féminin, chic, intemporel, une mode à l'americaine qu'on aurait envie de porter maintenant!

Ah, et j'ajouterai une mention spéciale pour les manteaux de la collection Alexander Wang. J'en veux 1, avec les gants de boxeur qui vont avec, bien sur! 

Did you follow the New- York Women's Ready to Wear fashion shows for Winter 2013-2014? 
If not, here is an overview of the 3, I liked the most. What I prefered about Jason Wu, Proenza Schouler and Theyskens'Theory is the (false) simplicity; in the shape, the range of colors,white, grey, black, nude and the research of technical fabrics. It's feminine, chic, timeless, this is the american point of view regarding fashion and we'd like to wear it now! 

Oh, and I will add a special mention for the coats from Alexander Wang collection. I want 1 with the boxer gloves that go with it, of course!

TENDANCE ETE 2014 - SUMMER TREND 2014

Les collections Eté arrivent en boutique depuis quelques semaines (même si nous sommes toujours en Hiver) et à l’heure où j’envoie ce post, nous sommes en pleine Milan Fashion Week Hiver 2013-2014 (Paris du Mardi 26 Février  au Mercredi  06 Mars)… Et moi, je viens vous parler des tendances Eté 2014, Wou-Hou ! 

Vous allez me dire que c’est un peu tôt mais les collections Eté se crééent déjà maintenant. 

                                                                                                                        

Voici mon inspiration :

Tendance couleurs : un colorama de couleurs fluo mixé avec des couleurs pastel sur une base de Blanc.

Tendance matières : beaucoup de matières reliéfées, texturées, un effet tweed, comme si on avait brodé des fils de couleurs formant l’imprimé sur le tissu, la soie gaufrée, le lurex, le brocart et jacquards.

Tendance imprimé : géométrique rappelant les imprimés aztèque.

Les dessins de Christopher Michlig illustrent parfaitement la palette de couleurs et l’idée d’imprimé ou de travail du tissu.

Summer collections are coming in stores since few weeks (although we are still in winter) and at the time I send this post, we are in the middle of Milan Fashion Week Winter 2013-2014 (Paris is from Tuesday, February 26 to Wednesday 06 March) ... And I'm here to talk about the trends Summer 2014, Wu Hou! 

You tell me that it is a bit early but Summer collections are created even now. 

Here is my inspiration:

Trend colors: fluorescent colors palette mixed with pastel colors on a white base.

Trend materials: textured fabrics with a tweed effect as if we had embroidered the sons on the forming fabric, embossed silk, lurex, brocade and jacquard.

Print trend: geometric prints which reminds of Aztec fabrics.

Christopher Michlig drawing’s illustrates perfectly the colors palette and the idea of ​​printed fabric or embroidery.

TREND #26 LITTLE FLOWER

J’aime l’idée de fines broderies aériennes comme des fleurs fraichement cueillies. J’étais parti avec en tête la photo ‘Lily of the Valley’ de Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Je n’étais pas satisfaite du résultat qui était un petit peu trop désuet à mon gout. J’avais envie de quelque chose de plus ‘électrisant’ pour casser le coté fleurette…

I like the idea of fine air embroidery as flowers freshly picked. I had in mind the photo ‘Lily of the Valley’ of Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. I was not satisfied with the result, which was a little too old-fashioned for my taste. I wanted something more ‘electrifying’ to break the little nice flowers side...

LINDER STERLING AU MAM

J’ai bien aimé l’expo de Linder Sterling qui est en ce moment au Musée d’art moderne de Paris. 

Ce sont les collages avec les femmes fleurs qui m’ont particulièrement inspirée. Je me suis amusée à faire ce montage/collage en laissant parler les fleurs pour la palette de couleurs…Vous avez vu l’expo ? Ça vous a plus ?

I liked Linder Sterling exhibition’s that is currently at the Modern Art Museum in Paris. 

This is the women flowers collages which particularly inspired me. I enjoyed making this collage by letting speak flowers for the color palette … Have you see the exhibition? Did you like it?

TREND #25 LE SMOKING

La tendance du smoking revient en grande pompe dans les collections Femme Eté 2013. Revisité par Hedi Slimane pour la maison YSL,  le smoking se veut plus sexy que jamais ! Le duo graphique, clair-obscur, de noir profond et de blanc immaculé sont soulignés d’or.

J’étais étudiante lorsque j’ai découvert les photos ‘Le Smoking’ d' Helmut Newton pour Yves Saint Laurent (la 1ere des 3). J’étais fascinée par l’atmosphère qui se dégage de ces clichés. L’ambiance mystérieuse, la nuit noire, l’ambiguïté masculin/féminin, la tension sexuelle… On oublierai  presque que ce cliché a été pris il y a presque 40 ans, maintenant.

Détail important, Le Smoking ne se porte qu’une fois la nuit tombée…

The trend of the tuxedo returns with great pomp in collections Woman Summer, 2013. Revisited by Hedi Slimane for the house YSL, the tuxedo wants sexier than ever! The graphic duet, the twilight, of deep black and pure white are highlighted by gold.

I was a student when I discovered the photos 'Le Smoking' by Helmut Newton for Yves Saint Laurent (the first of 3). I was fascinated by the atmosphere that emerges from these pictures. The mysterious atmosphere, dark night, the ambiguity male / feminine, the sexual tension … We almost forget that this picture was taken almost 40 years ago, by now.

TREND #24 WISH LIST FOR VALENTINE'S DAY

A l’approche de la Saint Valentin, j’avais envie d’un thème sur la Lingerie. Sexy, provocatrice, suggestive et luxueuse, la lingerie fine titille les envies ou (r)allume le feu sous la glace. 

Pour la gamme de couleurs, j’ai pensé au film de Stanley Kubrick, Eyes Wide Shut : le vert foncé pour un rideau en velours, le rouge pour la passion et l'interdit, et le doré pour le luxe, le faste et la volupté.

La soie, le satin, le velours et la dentelle sont obligatoire pour jouer à ce jeu (d'adulte)! A vous d’imaginer la votre suite…Fifty Shade of Grey, ou pas…

                           

With the approach of Valentine's Day, I wanted a Lingerie theme. Sexy, provocative, suggestive and luxurious, the fine lingerie titillate the desires or (re)light the fire under the ice. 

For the colors range I thought of Eyes Wide Shut film from Stanley Kubrick: dark Green for a velvet curtain, Red for passion and prohibition and Gold for luxury, pomp and pleasure.

Silk, satin, velvet and lace are required to play this (adult) game! I let you imagine the your story… Fifty Shade of Grey, or not…

MUSIC #1 MULHOLLAND DRIVE

Pour illustrer en fond sonore le thème de la Saint Valentin, j'avais en tête non pas la musique de Eyes Wide Shut de Stanley Kubrick (un peu trop 'angoissante' pour la Saint Valentin) mais la musique du film Mulholland Drive de David Lynch.

To illustrate the soundtrack of Valentine's Day theme, I had in mind not the music of Eyes Wide Shut de Stanley Kubrick (a little to 'frightening' for Valentine's Day) but the music from the film Mulholland Drive by David Lynch.

Edward Hopper à Paris au Grand Palais

Je dois avouer que quand mon copain m’a proposé d’aller voir l’exposition Edward Hopper au Grand Palais, ma première réaction a été de lui dire que ça ne m’intéressait pas. Trop de monde, trop d’attente, trop de buzz, pour des peintures que l’on peut finalement voir sur Internet ou dans des livres d’art. Je ne voulais pas faire comme le tout Paris en allant voir cette expo.

J’ai finalement changé d’avis lorsque j’ai appris que l’exposition se prolonger avec des nocturnes (le Grand Palais ouvert toute la nuit, waouh !).

Cela m’a rappelée lorsque j’étais étudiante, j’allais visiter le musée du Louvre les soirs de nocturnes. Il y avait une atmosphère particulière. Le silence, ces grandes galeries vides et ces œuvres rien que pour nous, donnait au Louvre un côté mystérieux. On s’attendait à croiser Belphégor (le fantôme du Louvre) au détour d’un couloir ombragé…

Je m’attendais donc à ce que l’on soit tranquille au Grand Palais !

Eh bien, pas du tout...

Lors de la visite de l’expo, (il y avait bien sur beaucoup de monde!) je fus agréablement surprise de découvrir des toiles aux couleurs étonnamment  lumineuses. Voici les 3 tableaux qui m’ont le plus marqués. Je les ai trouvés très inspirants et j’en ai tiré des gammes de couleurs.

I must admit that when my boyfriend proposed me to see the Edward Hopper exhibition at the Grand Palais, my first reaction was to tell him that it does not interest me. Too many people, too much waiting too much buzz for paintings that you can finally see on Internet or in books of art. I didn’t want to do as all Paris to see this exhibition.

I finally changed my mind when I learned that the exhibition was prolonged at night (the Grand Palais open all night long, wow).

It reminded me of when I was a student; I used to visit the Louvre museum at night. There was a special atmosphere. The silence, the empty great galleries and the paintings and statues just for us, gave to the Louvre a mystery feeling. It was expected to cross Belphegor (ghost of the Louvre) round a shady corridor...

So, I was expecting that it is quiet at the Grand Palais!

Well, not at all...

During the visit of the exhibition (there were of course a lot of people), I was pleasantly surprised to discover amazingly bright colored paintings. Here are 3 paintings I liked the most. I found them very inspiring, so I made colors ranges.
